Second Degree Reiki requires students to already have taken First Degree attunements and have been practising for at least three months. Students will learn the Reiki symbols and their uses as well as being taught distance healing. Training is for seven hours over one day. Completion of First and Second Degree Reiki permits the practitioner to treat others and receive payment.

Reiki Master Teacher level requires students to have both First and Second Degree Reiki and to have been practising for at least two years. Initial training is over 2 six-hour days to pass on the Master Symbol and attunement techniques, but is based more on an ‘apprenticeship’ whereby the student has an on-going commitment with the tutor. On completion of the Master Teacher level, the Reiki practitioner is then qualified to attune others to Reiki.
